Disposable Monuments
Disposable Monuments Artist Statement
In this ongoing series of painted paper sculptures, I create hyper‑realistic renditions of discarded, mass‑produced packaging—objects so ubiquitous in our daily lives that they often go unnoticed. By recreating these weathered coffee cups, soda cups, and fast‑food containers, I highlight how exposure to the elements transforms standardized products into individualized artifacts. Each piece becomes a meditation on waste, commercialization, and the evolving design language of consumer culture. Through this work, I document not only the physical decay of these objects but also the shifting visual landscape of my hometown, revealing the quiet impact of manufactured refuse on our environment.
